King penguins explore the snowy outdoors at the St. Louis Zoo!

Keepers decided to use the wintry weather as part of the penguins’ daily enrichment activity by letting a few selected penguins walk outside of the Penguin and Puffin Coast area.

Penguins are awesome animals all around! Smart, funny, and adventurous. They’re probably also one of the only animals that don’t have any nasty little secrets that ruin their cool factor (like finding out male otters will rape baby otters, or dolphins will kill porpoises for fun)!
